Aperathos Women’s Traditional Art Cooperative

A key station of the cultural routes of Naxos is the Aperathos Women’s Traditional Art Cooperative, which was created on the initiative of Manolis Glezos in the village of Apeiranthos in 1987. The aim of the Cooperative is to preserve the tradition through which the art of weaving remains alive and useful with the typical colours and patterns made on the original Aperathian loom (krevataria). At the Cooperative, apart from seeing how the traditional weavings are woven, you can also buy either fabrics or a variety of home decorations.
